Firewatch
I recently played this ps4 exclusive game by Campo Santo and was pleasantly surprised. Its not a huge open world game or violent shooter but a quest to find the truth find yourself and explore nature wrapped into one. it's the story of a guy down on his luck having family issues who just needs to get away, so he finds himself in the heart of a National park in Wyoming as a Firewatch Ranger, those who look out for fires in large towers. His only contact is another Ranger doing the same thing as he. There's a underlying story going on all the while your becoming close with the other lookout. You explore the beautiful park looking for clues to your story/mystery and sometimes I found myself just gazing upon the gorgeous scenery all around me. In a world full of carbon copy sequels and RPGs that take months to complete, this game is refreshingly different, and I like different. Aren't the best games the ones that take you to places you've never been? Or put you on journeys you actually want to go on? And I found myself actually caring about the characters, there's branching answers to all the questions asked so it's possible theres multiple endings as well. All in all I really enjoyed this game and the lovely world they created, I wish it was a bit longer but I like it for what it is. 4.5 stars out of 5
