First Game I ever owned.

The First game I ever remember playing was Pitfall on the Atari 2600. It was my older brothers game and we would play it and Combat for hours.

First Console

The Atari 2600 was my first video game console...and still one of my favorites. There are so many games on the system for friends and family to play side by side sitting on the couch. A feature that seems all too forgotten on newer consoles with online capabilities.

Favorite Game / Games

My favorite game is Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES/Famicom. It just seems to be the perfect mix of Fun and Challenge. The controls are so well done and the level design is fantastic. The power ups are great and the warp whistles rock. But overall I think it was the Airships and the Koopa Kids that won me over for good. Some of my other favorites are Journey to Silius which has in my opinion some of the best music on the NES right next to Legend of Zelda, I play a significant amount of Minecraft xbox one editon as well. Of course (obviously) Skyrim is one of my favorite games too!

Favorite Consoles

Its the NES for me on this one. Since I first played The Legend of Zelda on the NES there has been no other game that made me feel the way I did when I held that Golden Cart and put it in the NES. An entire beautifully detailed world for me to explore, hunt monsters, explore caves and save the kingdom. I became a gamer for life right then.

Why I started collecting games.

I really started collecting games before I realized I was collecting games. When I was younger, we didn't own very many games. We actually rented most of all the games I played growing up. So as I got older and started working for a living I started picking up games I used to love to play when I would see them. After a while I started getting games that I never had heard of, especially for the NES, because I wanted to play games I never had played before. Thats how I found alot of great games like Vice Project Doom, Bucky O Hare and Journey to Silius. Rather quickly it seemed I had aquired a few games. Now I am just simply running out of room! Ha!

What do video games mean to you.

Video games mean alot to me. Through rough times in my life I could always jump into another world and live for a bit (8bit...HA!) . They also mean alot to me in form of music. I listen to alot of music from games...music that affects you when you hear it. Songs from Chrono Cross or Final Fantasy VI. The ending music to Journey to Silius that gives you that feeling of avenging your father....without any captions to tell you that. Now sharing them with my son just creates even more meaning to me.

What do I enjoy most about video games.

I love adventuring....so alot of RPG playing. I also enjoy using my mind to solve puzzles and I love a good platformer. Music also plays a big part in what I enjoy most about video games. But overall I guess I enjoy playing games with friends and family. Sitting together communicating and interacting with one another. Thats probably what I enjoy the most.
