Gaming Gold
There are a few games that come out that set a benchmark for greatness. Zelda, Mario,Halo all come to mind as bigtime game series that we all know are going to be great games and must buy purchases, in this segment I'd like to touch on a different game every other article that I believe are games that transcend console generations and are still must play even today. The first game I'd like to talk about is Red Dead Redemption. This was a game by a Rockstar set in the American southwest and parts of Mexico at the turn of the century , the old west . Similar in design to open world Grand Theft Auto titles this game took it to another level with horses, ruthless gangs and six shooters. You play as John Marston an outlaw trying to turn it around and settle down after a life robbing trains and being wanted. The atmosphere of this game stands out the most to me, the starry night sky the cactus all around and the sweeping vistas of the old west are breathtaking! And I live in Texas! There are small towns to visit, horses to break, cattle to herd and poker to be played. The size of the map is huge and there's lots to see and do, this is one of those games that's hard to put down and when you do you find yourself thinking about it and craving more. With rumors of a sequel in the works for the new systems I can only imagine the level design and greatness Rockstar will put into it. One of my all time favorite games, you definitely owe it to yourself to try this game or revisit it and play it again.
